In-game vehicles
During the past week we have recived many last minute requests of bringing in-game vehicles. This means that we do not have enough BAVS-ir systems to mount on all cars. So we will make some minor rule-fixes to sort this problem and to optomize the use of BAVS.
1.) All vehicles without BAVS will need to have side windscreens down while driving ingame. 2.) Berget TGB20 & TGB40 transport carriers are considered as Armoured vehicles and can only be stopped by BAVS or vehicle mines. 3.) BAVS IR recivers mounted on vehicles will be marked with Yellow tape so it will be easier to aim for. 4.) All vehicles except the Tanks, TGB20 & TGB40 transport carriers can be stopped by shooting the driver windshield as usual. 09 Jun 2010 - 10:11
Mosquitos
 During Berget 8 there will be lots of mosquitos during nights and cloudy days. If you are not used to them you will get small itching dots when bitten but the most important thing is to have some kind of mosquito-protection during your sleep. A small mosquito hat with net or a repellent to put in your face and other visable bodyparts.
Your sleep is important and therefore you should follow this advice if you are not used mosquitos. NOTE! You can get mosquito protection from most swedish supermarket like COOP or ICA. 04 Jun 2010 - 09:37
New safezone location!
 You can get the location to the safezone here. The "B" is the location of the safezone and there will be signs with "Berget 8" showing the way when you enter the town and we will have info in old Safezone just in case.
Nothing has changed regarding gameplay or logistics other than the move of the safezone. The game area is still in Sollefteå so no traveling or housing changes needs to be done. For all players that have sent their equipment it will still be delivered to the new safezone. The same regarding player transports from Harnosand and Sundsvall, you will be taken to the new safezone. Because of the changes, base areas are moved. This will mainly affect NAF rangers and Psyops that will have a different base setup than the first plan. Slow administration!
Due to high workload and due to some changes in game-setup we are very busy. Emails will be anwserd but the handlingtime is slightly higher than usual. Game-area maps are being changed / finalized and will be released during next week.
Some things to remember before going the game: - Make sure you have you armband-id on your armband (If not email info@berget-events.com) - Make sure you have your orange deadrag. - Make sure to bring cash to the gamesite, you can withdraw cash from any ATM-machine in Sweden. - Make sure you have read all rules and info on the Berget 8 webpage and in the veterans forums. 21 May 2010 - 17:32
The Berget shop is online!
 You will now be able to order your products and pick them up before the game without having to carry them with you on your travel to Berget. By doing this we can also offer you lower prices without shipping costs. This first year of our launched web shop, the assortment of products will be very limited. We do however plan to increase the number of products in the future.

Supply positions (SP)
 We will now add one more interesting thing to the gameplay. There will be supply points for your team to capture. These points will be of great value for your team but will be hard to capture.
Your team will gain 5 transport points and 5 artillery points for every three hours your team holds the positions.You need to activate the capture by raising the flag with your teamcolor and using the phone & instructions mounted to the capture totem. If an enemy recaptures the point within the three hour time-span you won't receive any points for the capture. And as soon as your oponent start his capture time-span he will receive capturepoints every three hours. We will monitor this remote and notify your commander when he receives his points. Artillery points = Your commander can use artillery-strikes on enemy positions. Transport points = Your commander can use the vehicle convoys for faster deployment or pickup of your troops. NOTE!  If you have planned on sending your guns to Sweden, it is time to do so now. If your package gets deleayed by customs you will need som time to sort it out. Please read all the info under genral info about sending your weapons and start planning for your package.

Server Problems!
We are curently having some problems with our webserver. Berget websites and forum can be out of function sporadicly during the next 2-3 days while we move it to a new server. So please have patience with us.

Early arrivals
 It is very important to understand that you are not allowed to arrive to the gamearea or Safezone beforehand. Check-in opens: Tuesday 15th 09:00 CET, before that you will have to stay at camping or hotel/hostel in Sollefteå city.
We have rented the area from tuesday morning and are only allowed to do prep-jobs at the site beforehand. We do not have any water, toilets or electricity in the bases until wednesday the 16th. Some groups, commanders or partners with a special written permit will be allowed to stay in Safezone from monday. We will however not provide any tents or shelter for those. NOTE! Your armband-ID
 It is time to start producing your armband with your indivudal player-ID.
You will have to bring/create your own armband. When constructing your own armband, it must be atleast 11 cm (4,3 inch) wide and have your induvidual teamnumber visable in black. Players without correct armband's wont be allowed into the game-area. We recommend players to use atleast two layers of fabric, otherwise the armband will wrinkle up and your ID number won't be visable. You will get your armband-id at your private forumparts, it will be posted there within 2 days. So if you are not allready registerd please do so by following the below steps: To join the private Forumparts: Follow these steps at the forum: 1. Press on the "usergroups" button. 2. Choose the users group you want to join to in the drop-down list and press on "view information" 3. Click on "Join group". (NAF or Poldavian Barracks) 4. Wait for the group's moderator to accept your requst to join the group." 5. If your forum nickname is not the same as on the playerslist you should PM the moderator of your forumpart. Where to live in central Sollefteå
 Berget-events recommends all players arriving early to stay att "Risöns Camping" in the middle of central Sollefteå. Just around 400 meters away from towncentre shops, cafès and restaurants and 1800 meters to Safezone and gamearea.
You can rent a hut / house or sleep in your own tent or camper. There is also a internet cafe and wireless internet. If you like fishing there is very-good river for that where you can catch big salmon! To Sollefteå camping here Pictures here here 30 Mar 2010 - 22:16
Berget 8 Game area revealed
The agreement with the landowner is set and we will now give you directions to Safezone and parking. The gamearea will be situated 80 km northwest of Härnösand in a town called Sollefteå.
You can get the location to the safezone here. The "B" is the location of the safezone and there will be signs with "Berget 8" showing the way. Transfers will still be made from Sundsvall Trainstation / Härnösand Bus/trainstation and Midlanda Airport (Sundsvall). Poldavian 1st infantry Battalion commander selected!
 Johan "Rakowski" Högberg has been selected as commander of the Poldavian 1st infantry Battalion. Johan has great leadership & organizing skills and are well known to Berget Crew. He have particpated in two previous Berget-games.

Camouflage Reminder!
 This is a reminder to all players that camouflage rules will be strictly enforced for berget 8. If you are playing on the NAF side you must wear a "Desert Style" camouflage uniform, if you are playing on the Poldovian side you must wear a "Woodland Style" camouflage uniform. Civillians may wear uniforms/BDU that are in plain colours (i.e. OD/Tan)
Key words: - Desert Style: The focus is that the pattern is primarily tan/sand/lighter colors. There must be a pattern (i.e. Plain Khaki is not acceptable). Some examples are: M90 Ökenkammo, Desert Marpat, ACU, Multicam, Three color desert (DCU), Six color desert, Desert DPM, DDPCU (Desert Auscam) - Woodland Style: The focus is that the pattern is primarily green/brown/darker colors. There must be a pattern (i.e. OD is not acceptable). Some examples are: M90, French CE (French Woodland), US Woodland (BDU), DPM, CADPAT, Woodland Marpat If you have any questions about a suitable style, you should check the berget forums and ask your question in the camouflage thread. If you arrive at the game and do not have a suitable camouflage uniform, you will have to purchase a suitable uniform from an onsite vendor before you are allowed to participate in the game. NAF 5th Infantry Battalion commander selected.
 Michael "Oberlix" Blosen has been selected as commander for NAF 5th Infantry Battalion. Michael have been managing airsoft events in Belgium and Germany and have been working in the German Airforce as colonel for 32 years.

NAF 3rd Ranger commander selected.
 We have selected 43 year old Arthur "Whiteace" Pfaff from Netherlands as commander for the NAF 3rd Rangers. Arthur is a Berget veteran and joined his first Berget as one of the Spetsnaz commanders during Berget 5.

 We have selected 40 year old Fredrik "Freno" from Sweden as commander for the Poldavian Psyops-side. Fredrik is a Berget veteran and have been around since Berget 5, he also have experience as an officer in the Swedish Army and Homeguard.

NAF 23rd infantry Battalion Commander selected !
 We have selected Francisco "Blackwolf" from Portugal as Commander for the NAF 23rd infantry Battalion. Francisco is a well known Berget veteran and have completed four Berget games as platoon and coy commander.
Francisco is 42 years old and have done military service in the Navy. Delays!
Due to heavy workload and lots of administration regarding payments without ticket-id we will need some extra days until giving out the new released tickets.

The release of unpaid tickets.
After the last of november, there will be unpaid tickets released to players waiting in line for tickets or tickets to a special side. There will be possible to change side also for those who have a paid ticket.

 We have decided to select Anders "Tiger_1" Morgan from Norway as Commander for the Poldavian 3rd mountaineers. Anders is 32 years old, have experience from three Berget-games and 13 years of continious military service as a Lieutenant.

Payment reminder!
There are 12 days left until the first unpaid tickets will be removed and sold to players waiting in ticket-que. We would advise you to pay your ticket-fee as soon as possible.
If you recently payed there is no need to worry even though you are not marked as payed in the "players list". Due to heavy load, administration are slow and there can be a delay of 5-6 days before your ticket get marked as "payed". When removing unpayed tickets we look at our paypal/bankaccount and not the playerslist which means that even though your ticket is marked unpayed you won't lose it. Slow administration!
We have tons of work registrering all payments and bookings, it can take up to to 5 days before your e-mail is answered or your payment is registered into our system.

Commander selection:
 We are now looking for commanders to all sides on Berget 8. In order to apply for these roles you need to fulfil the following demands:
1.You need to be at least 25 years old. 2. You need to be able to speak English 3. You need to have attended at least one previous Berget-game. Send your application to info@berget-events.com with all the information you would send when you apply for any job. In addition we need to know your military background and your airsoft experience. Finally you need to write a personal letter why you would be a good commander and how you would run your HQ.
