To ensure that you get a role that suits your style of play, we have compiled a brief description of the various options open to you.
Infantry:
You are the backbone of your team, and can expect to see a lot of action. This is the ideal option for those who like a high level of excitement and adrenalin.
Mechanised Units:
The mechanised units contain both armour and soft-skinned vehicles. Missions will range from spearheading assaults to performing medevacs from hostile territory to delivering food to the troops. To sign up for a position in a mechanised unit, you must have a driver's license for standard cars. If your licence also covers light or heavy goods vehicles, please let us know.
Command:
If you choose to play as a part of the command staff you will be formulating and issuing orders to your team. Command units will form the heart of your team's base, and apart from just "giving orders" they may also be called upon to leave the base for inspection tours and the like. Command staff personnel also includes base security, medical and communication staff. This assignment will include mainly defensive and administrative assignments.
Artillery:
Similar to infantry, the artillery has a little more freedom in the way they operate and can deal a great deal of damage with their mortars. Artillery units consist of fire directors, riflemen and sometimes forward observers. The artillery is a very important components as it can pin the enemy with heavy indirect fire as your infantry advances.
Special Forces/Spetsnaz:
These units will perform ambushes and sabotage raids against the enemy. As a special forces unit, you operate alone and have to carry your own food, water and ammo. As at previous Berget events, this role is only suitable for those with endurance and strength as some of the missions can involve long tabs and lots of patience.
