My Real Sword SVD cycled 580fps springs effortlessly.

But the hopup is not up to the task (long range accuracy is nowhere near to a good bolt-action rifle), better to stay around 500 fps.

thanks for the reply .

do you mean the hopup rubber itself is not up to it or not enough adjustment in the svd .

my m24 is tuned to 525 but i changed barrels and lost 80 fps i want to use the new barrel so im waiting on a 380% spring which i hope should bring it back up atleast a few fps .

Try another rubber. Some barrels and rubbers do not mix well.

The range of adjustment is enough, but the SVD hopup chamber itself is not good for heavy BBs. We tried 6-7 different sleeve/bucking/H-nub setups, incuding inner bbl swap, but the rifle didn't perform well over 50m.

My bolt-action at the same power level ran rings around it out to 80m w/ .40s. Maybe some custom work on the nozzle and chamber might help.

The RS SVD is a really nice, solidly built rifle, but it's just a sprayer-and-prayer at long range.

You may fit in M170 but I would suggest removing the metal part from inside of the piston.

I have S&T SVD, copy of RS SVD. Mecha is 100% of RS one. Do you know if PSG-1 cylinder head fits to this or is it some other type? It is plastic also so I would change that part also. I just need to know what cylinder head to buy.

head of psg-1 will not fit. you will need to make custom one. i have seen somewhere aluminum SVD head for sale made by RS. Check on google. if you will not be able to find msg i still have few custom aluminum heads left

The best high-power spring for the RS SVD is a RS M170 - this will give something like 3,6J and is very easy to install.
Only other concern you have to have: (assuming that the box is without damage to start with)

You need a GOOD battery - 11,1V LiPo "As big as possible (I use 2x7,4V 1300mAh 25C in eerie (= 14,8V) in mine, but have also good experience with a 11,1V 1560mAh 20C)
I will also suggest a Mosfet - I use a simple SRC mosfet, but this does the trick.
The stock motor can be used, but a High Tourque like the SRC Maganatar is better (and draws less current)
RS recommends that you also exchange the piston head with their CNC alu, but the stock one is also fine.
