Hey,
I'm thinking of buying a sniper-rifle. Of course my eyes got a hold of the Barrett M107. But again, that was just because of the looks.
My Q is, what should I look for when buying a good sniper rifle?
FPS, electric, spring, gass etc?
Do you have any tips, please share =)

Spring will be the most reliable and consistent. Despite the outdated/lame looks, VSR-BAR series will get you the best accuracy and consistency after upgrades. 550-600 fps. Effective range out to 70-80m w/ .40s. The new TM L96 AWS is also OK, but it's a more complicated system with less support.
With gas, externally powered is the only way to go (using external HPA tanks and LP regulators). Tanaka series and clones. The unregulated "gas in the mag" won't cut it for numerous reasons. It will be expensive and never as accurate as a spring rifle. Most gas rifles end up as wall hangers and "WTS queens".
Electric rifles don't handle heavy (>.30) BBs well (due to the nozzle/tapped/ thin hopup rubber design), so I'd avoid them, unless you are a trigger happy guy, or you wanna hose down large crowds. TM M14 and clones are the best bet, IMO. Some swear by the RS SVD, but I wasn't impressed at all.
Best advice: 90% of the "sniper rifles" out there are crap, regardless of the price tag, so choose carefully.

This is the most popular company for low pressure external rigs:

For a more balanced and safe performance some guys also use a secondary regulator. Of course, you need to modify the magazine (replacing the fill valve with QD connectors which could involve some drilling and tapping).
