To get a good rifle you'll have to upgrade mostly everything inside it. The Marui VSR10 is a good weapond to start with, but i've heard manny guys doing so with Jing Gong BAR10 rifles.. the clone, and since you have to spend 400$ upgrading it you'll save 30$ by buying the clone.

The tanaka gass rifles cost more, but since you don't need to upgrade it to play as a sniper, you don't pay that much more.

You have to upgrade everything in Tanakas (bolt, mags, hopup, barrel, external rig) to make them skirmishworthy...

Well since we're on the topic, does anyone know if the Real Sword Dragunov SVD is any good? It has some good reviews but I was wondering if anyone has handled one first-hand?

Great externals and internals (upgrade to 600 fps is just a spring change), high-quality stock inner barrel, etc, but the hopup is simply not up to heavy BBs and sniping. Tried half dozen different hopup setups before selling mine. Accuracy was lacking over 50 meters, my VSR was running circles around it.

It's just an AEG.

Thanks Trasher. Nice photo too. :D

I really love the Dragunov design so would you happen to know if there is a better-made on out there by chance or is the Real Sword the best? If it is and it does have the problems then maybe I will just look for something else.

Yup. I was impressed by the overall quality and the gearbox, RS is up there with the best AEG manufacturers. Maybe you should take a look at the CA SVD, but I think that rifle is zinc/alu/plastic vs the steel and wood RS.

I sure haven't man...only ever seen the SVD. I personally would love to see a Dragunov Romak-3 but have never seen one of those either. I've always liked that one best cause IMO it most closely resembles the AK-47 with the two-piece front furniture.

I would assume so dude. From my understanding, a weapon that fits the criteria for a certain class may be used in that class rating or lower. Why may I ask though would you want a bolt-action rifle with such a low fps though? Seems to me that you would be better off with just a regular AEG then.
