So I just purchased the Baofeng UV-5R.. After programming in my frequencies, whenever I transmit from the handset, right after ending the transmission the radio outputs static. Only way to stop the static is either receiving a message or pushing a button on the radio (Any button).

Anyone know how to fix this? Should I return it and get a new one?

I also acquired the same model. Never had that problem. If I were you, I'd send it back just because it's relatively new purchase (?)

Amazon, since I'm in the USA. Maybe I just got a bad radio, I've seen some reports of some similar glitches with the UV-5R, just was curious if anyone had any similar issues.

Go for the Wouxun UVD-1p. It's worth the extra few bucks.
