European Airsoft Association?
The idea is good to establish EAA. I think first we have to exchange all best practices, has I saw some of the countries are more develop then other with more experience.

I am generally positive regarding the motivation for this idea. It's come up in numerous conversations ....
Where there's a will there's a way.
The biggest question I encounter is, when is the right time to establish it and would establishing it help or hurt more? [Opening a can of worms and all that ?]
Individual country level bodies, affiliated to a larger European or even WorldWide association may be the way to go perhaps.
Liason between businesses and governments would be critical to establish as voice and a seat at the table.
I have very close assocations through my day job with world wide regulations bodies and various government agencies within the technology sector. What a minefield it can be. [I'm not saying I am an authority or anything, just that I've had the opportunity to see how the gears grind so to speak as I'm sure others have]
Lawyers talking to politians and bureaucrats and .... oh dear ... it can be painful.

Guys the Dutch Airsoft Association NABV (http://www.nabv.nl) is already working on it.
Several international associations have joined and a website will soon be online at http://www.europeanairsoftassociation.eu
Stay tuned...

www.fpairsoft.com
www.fdsoftair.com
Who knows they want to join.

Guys, we are already in contact with Portugal (FPA) and Ireland. Both would like to join. Also Belgium has interest but requested more information.
When the website is online, please contact us at info@europeanairsoftassociation.eu to join, colaborate, discuss, suggest etc!
For sure it would be good to make a list here of all National associations, together with websites, contact details and persons who we could approach.

The 1st good move it's to put the website in English. Then ask to all participant Countrys to make a translation for their own language.

General goal from EAA...
Protect Airsoft and try to make it legal in all european countrys.
When we decide to make our federation, do you know what was one of the problems ith our politicians? There isn't any international federation (like FIFA), so this is not a sport to turn it legal!

You are totaly right. In October I have a meeting with a politician from the ALDE (Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe) party from the European Union. It is for another issue but I will try to discuss the airsoft issue too.
I mailed with Ireland, Portugal, Austria and Belgium. They have interest in the EAA.
I completed a concept for EAA and will try to mail it within a week.

Gerard is also in the board of the NABV btw... (http://www.nabv.nl/?page_id=2)
