sykk, +1

Maybe I didn't explain myself properly, but I feel if there will be a tightly built-up area (which is excellent prop!) it will be total chaos and free-for-all. So there are no rules you can implement inside game this size, other than have the CQB-battles be a separate event with rule-briefings to ALL before it happens. And I don't see that very... Bergetish or even practical.

So, if it goes with the rules we have, and we will be fighting in tightly built areas, all I can hope is that other players will use the same common sense I do. I know not all will, so I will still carry my AEG on the side ;)

Surely not dropping to any level, don't get me wrong here.

I just have the feeling BE didn't think this one completely through.

Combined with Kayco's idea of marking these areas so everybody can distinguish one from the other = sounds good!

ist easy to have only class 1 in town ..

50 m above the city border no other guns allowed .. that give the snipers
enought room to reach the city and defenders will have their first line of defence at the 50m point ..

if BE want i can make some signs with the 50m warning .. for free .. !
how many do we need ? 100 ?

Sounds good!
Maybe we need no more rules and all commanders could make an quick arangement:
A gentlemen's agreement!

No one shouts from outside into the area and all accept the 50m safety distance, signed by Losolos's signs.
Thats it!

p.s. troops fighting only with pistols inside the town area should be really fun.

In Norway we have used the zone rule, so that within a certain range of buildings you can only use CQB weapons on semi auto. But you can fire In and out of the zone with normal weapons. Meaning an assault team can still be covered by snipers and mg, but they can't lead the assault round the corner. Defenders of course can use same weapons in defence, and only need to shift to secondary weapons when attackers are within their CQB zone.

This means that you can still be shot by a sniper in town, he is just outside your CQB zone and following his standars safty distance? This will of course mean zones around induvidual houses, not a set distance from town...but I am sure the rule is adaptable.

I too think BE crew would be wise to adapt a variation of these two rules Tiger-1 and Losolos' 50m

I also think that this CWB area needs to have at least few game masters or trustees with necessary rights to interfere if someone is breaking the rules or generally behaving unsafely (blind fire, over tuned weapon etc). These game masters / trustees should be in CQB area whenever there is major conflict going on. We can all agree that there will be few bad eggs still who might cause danger to other players. By having masters / trustees in area we can ensure that it stays safe and hopefully we can keep it from turning in to total chaos.

My vote goes: semi rule + common sense. NO 50m city limitations ect.

If you want to play whitout face protection its your call. If you want to play whit face protection its your call. But dont start to limit the range around the building and locations "50m rule"... If people want to use their backups they will use them, but if they would rely on the mains thats their choise. And for the love of god all people here must use their common sense: semi only and avoid the head if possible in cqb. ofc I will pull out my backup when its convenient and use it when I see using it is a advantage for me.

But I will not change to my limited capacity backup pistol when fighting from a building corner to building corner... giving suppression fire while my buddies are advancing. How long would you think 2-3 pistol mags would last in a "open city combat"... yes lets think a little before raising to the "hey its safe and its dosent hurt"... if your afraid of the hurting part... well if you want to avoid the heat youd better stay hell out of the sauna...

"If it aint broken - dont try to fix it"

I rest my case

Although I'm new to Berget and don't know exactly what it will be like, I have many years of experience on CQB. And I'm not very keen on the idea of using only pistols, when I have a AEG-rifle that applies to the class 1 rule. (Plus I don't have a pistol :D)

I think it would be enough to limit the CQB areas for class 1 weapons only (but not only for pistols, but rifles too) and forbid blind fire. Semi-auto only isn't really necessary as a rule, but could be applied also.

I also support the 50 meter Rule around the town, gives snipers a fun advantage and increases safety for players shooting inside the town.

Class 1 and 50 meter circle!

Well Im so sorry that I gave out my own opinion about this matter, I so sorry for interference. I didnt know this threat was only limited to the "high up's" and normal grunts WHIT 13 YEARS of airsofting is not allowed to take part of the conversation.

And for the record this is not my first Berget... and I know the village in question.

Like somebody once said: Assumption is mother of all f*****s
