In my experience, the airstrikes were rather useless. AFAIK always late, uneffective and hardly changing the balance when used. IMHO they should be discontinued all together, the money, time and assets put to better use controlling rules of safety. Wich in some areas were utterly lacking. Safety needs to shape up, or it is just a matter of time before someone gets hurt really bad.

The only good thing the airstrikes and artillery managed, was to give us something cool to hear/see

Whenever an ATV came driving with rockets, people where running like madmen to avoid getting hit by the airstrike.. Inaffective in my opinion and costly as hell.

As Rythm said, use the time and money for increased safety instead, and maybe get some more points of interest :)

I agree the airstrike rules need looking over, the bangs were cool though. I did see on one occasion staff tell players that the airstrike had hit them. more of that please.

I didn't see a single case of a hit from airstrike or artillery. To be honest I wasn't even sure of the rules so I just went to hard cover when a strike eventually happened near me.

@diamid

No. Berget Crew do not read these discussions.

I have trough the years posted offgame tips. Never seen any progress.

Anyway. Berget is Berget and I keep on returning :)

Airstrike or artillery?
Actually Berget Crew needs to take of their west, and blending in before they place the fireworks. People trend to run when they see yellow vests.. If tcrew are hit, pull a death rag.

Hello
During the last day, NAF called in at least 10 strikes on mine and cooperating units that I was near.....
Most of the airstrikes where always called by 6th NAF request

Other NAF BATCOs would come to me and i would call them out to BE crew( most of them late, very late)

Tiger_1 it looks like i managed to hit your HQ together with a UN call :D :D :D

Yup, you took me and my HQ-colleague out twice, but at that time we were so bored over the mostly dead radio-net that we took it with a smile and simply respawned by taking 1-hour naps. We were mostly redundant anyway with that bad radio-net and most of our units couldn't reach us on their radios. Thanks for the barrage! :D

I was once in an airstrike at Deagas Plateau and that one killed few of us ZBO's in plain-blue. After that I was waiting for an attack, but that never happened. As we had the TP under command, it was easy for our men to respawn in 20 minutes or so. So that was perhaps a bit useless airstrike I think.

During the trip back home I also heard of a succesful airstrike by NAF-forces. The situation was (if I understood it correctly) that one finnish squad was almost killed and out of bullets. There was only two guys alive, first one had one mag in AR and second had a pistol with one clip and they're totally surrounded by Poldavians. What do they do? Before doing the crazy kamikaze charge they order an airstrike to their current location. After the charge and obvious death they head to Janco and after a while notice about 20 Poldavians following with their death rags on. That sure sounded like a nice battle and heroic thing to do, almost movie-like stuff! :)

Jason, you heard right. That was us, A3 from the 3rd. Hazardous and me decided to take some of those Pollies with us so we called in a Broken Arrow before shouting "hakkaa päälle pohjan poika!" We had nothing to loose: all out of bullets and surrounded. Was one helluva fight though! Thanks to the opposing force for the excellent resistance! All of us fought well and we kept the Pollies occupied for a good 1½ hours at the hill above Janco. I will be eagerly waiting for the reunion next year with all the A3 fellas.

Well, you might have hit the HQ, I think my total time there during the game could be counted on one hand, but I did hear that some of the REMF's got killed yes ;)

Friday my HQ was 400 meters from the UN camp. In a fine place that gave me coms with my company operating by the NAF base, Brigade HQ (aka Motorhead), and with my units operating along the road north of Janco. you dont really need much for a HQ, 3 radios and 2 mobile phones solves most of the problems. The only scare I had that day was when the Sgt Major fell asleep behind me and started to snore...took me a second to work out what it was ;)

As a side note: the 3rd ranger also didn't have any engineers. Zero, zip, none, null. I think this was a part of the unit setup as well "no engineers" as a guideline.
