My comrades and I arrived with out Firm technical to the Janco City after 02.00 on saturday night after the latest Poldavian assault on the UN and the city. There was some fighting still going on which we watched, greatly humoured by the state of affairs. I started chatting with the local Firm worker and after that with the hotel workers. Our chat was rudely interrupted by a burst from a nearby bush. We thought it was very rude and silenced the shooter with the combined fire from my rifle and the mounted mg of our car. After that we continued the negotiations about the intervention of the Firm into the situation. The KKK Hotel promised us some kind of compensation for our troubles and being the bloodthirsty Finns we are, we accepted. We flanked and raped the few attacking Poldavians (with whom we had already clashed earlier that day).

I wanted money so I found one of them on the ground wonded, healed him and took him prisoner while sporting the most awful shit eating grin I could muster. My teammates were mumbling something about "now some sports", "cavity searches" and "rape time" so understandably the prisoner (later found out to be an officer in the Poldavian artillery battery) was nervous. However there would be no raperaperape-tiem for him since I hailed the hotel personel and asked them what they would give us for the prisoner. Poldavian grilled ribs and caviar, apparently. It was delicious. I later tried to sell some to the bankers but apparently they could grill their own workers if need be, so there was no deal. Nice chaps though, if a bit shady looking.

I didnt get to LARP more than that, my squad was in the thick of the fighting or conducting shady black ops missions in the game. I only saw Janco twice, during that night time joyride and the Black Ops raid.

"Shady looking", can't imagine what gave you that idea... (I was the one with black hat that turned down your offer of Poldavian ribs)

What I, as a civilian, really liked was all the different attitudes you faced from other people. It probably helped that I didn't have a blue shirt like the rest of the BC crew, our pre-game plan was that I should roam around town talking to EVERYONE to gather as much intel as possible. That plan fell apart somewhere around dinner time on Thursday...

The UN was probably the most varied. Some were very friendly and tried hard to make nice, some were "by the book" and some indifferent. Had a friendly chat with one of the MP's who tried to get a grip on the clans and our leaders, we fast-talked the poor road block guards every time we had to pass their camps and we sent the CO a very harsh and unfriendly letter after they tried to issue traffic tickets. I actually feel a little sorry for the poor UN guys, they had it pretty rough at times and we civs sure weren't making their life any easier. We weren't shooting at them but did pretty much everything else we could to make their presence more miserable.

I was CO MP\ head of security - callsign HITMAN

All you civies game the game the dimention it needed. GREAT job ! It was hard to really try to get people to approve of the UN beeing there. You guys made my game ! And regarding the lawsuit : Some of you guys better read up on basic law, both international, and Geneve conv. before next event ;) It was childsplay to pull that lawsuit apart :P

And the girls . Man it was fun to EVAC one of them to the UN base due to secuityissues , and she though that she was beeing kidnaped!

And to that same girl - Sorry for leaving without saying after the beerparty, i might have had a couple of shots to may , had to egres back to camp for some highly tactical vomiting .

The best larp scene for me this year isn't hard to pick....

After our Zanzian raid of the Janco town we had the ashes and the will of Boris Janco. Three gypsy women wanted to get those back, so they contacted the Firm and lied that they might have some information (about the satellite) that would interest us Zanzians. The Firm arranged a meeting and transported the women to a remote glade/field late at night. Meanwhile our Nowember & Papa squads left our camp dressed as Firm employees. We took a detour through a thick swampy forest and changed into Zanzian gear.

There were only 2 Firm employees and they had had a firefight with Poldavians, so they shot at us a bit too. After that got settled, we ordered them back to the gypsies and surrounded the glade with 15 guys, all in OD and masks. After that I ordered the Mercenaries (as I kept calling the Firm guys) to leave the negotiations and to wait 100m away. The gypsy women didn't much enjoy their protectors leaving, but I (rather indifferently) pointed out that the two mercenaries would not be able to protect them from us, should we want the women dead.

It had been agreed before that I would do the talking. I was a head taller than the gypsies and masked as an Zansian. I talked (in good english) with an accent that I kept slow, deliberate and as cold, flat and unemotional as I could. Having done a few years of mall security I did have some experience talking to some rather vile people, so drew on that and took the stance the gypsy women were despicable civillian trash that I just might let live ;). I would also flick my carbines safety off at times and then ”remember” to put it back.

At this point the gypsy women were rather scared as they had lied in order to make the meeting happen. They had nothing of value to us. The negotiations did however take quite a while. The gypsies were trying to come up with something that would allow them to come out with their lives and I was being annoyed at being bothered with insects that were taking up my time. I had my orders though, so I had to try and do what I could to get info about the satellite. One of the gypsies tried to come up with a vision and had some sort of a seizure. That didn't tell us anything. Then they tried palm reading on me, which resulted in the fortune teller apparently seeing that I had done some very terrible things and had enjoyed them... Well read ;)

In the end I told them that ”You wasted our time and are of no use to us.... However... I have been ordered to let you live. Also, I have been ordered to give you this pedestal, as a sign of good faith. Bring us the information we want, and you may yet see the ashes and the will of Boris Janco.” After that I shouted ”Mercenaries! The meeting is concluded. Arrange for transportation!” and gave the now-relieved gypsies over to the Firm.

The scene took quite a while and was one of the best larp scenes I've ever been in. The place and setting was perfect and the contrast between the gypsies lying for their life and me being cold and threathening worked very well. The only problem was that arranging it took so many Firm/Zanzian ”statists” that had to be there but couldn't participate... For me, however, being the scariest bastard I could possibly be was really fun ;)

I should point out, that I was later told the gypsy women were absolutely sure that the Firm and the Zanzians were completely different groups. It seems my ”evil bastard”-accent didn't sound finnish at all ;)

Hell_Viking - Thank you for my best ingame memory! I was just standing there minding my own business when you all of a sudden pulled me out of our house and started running towards the UN-base, bb's flying everywhere. I was so confused all I could think of was screaming for my baby sister so that she (or really just anyone) would see what you were doing. I had a blast yelling at you in your camp, being upset about that you left my sister in the middle of the firefight, especially when I was free to go after like 5 minutes. I really wanted to give you a bitchslap. :P And that poor UNwoman who tried to calm me down.. Tehe. ^^ It's for sure my best memory. The confusion. The yelling. The frustration. Yup. Awesome. Let's do it again (just don't tell me about it)! :D

Tuoko - I'm glad we gave you a nice memory. But you got to get your facts straigth. :P

First of all - We didn't contact the Firm - The Firm contacted us and gave us an ultimatum ("either you come with us now or you'll never see it"). We didn't really have a choice wheter to go or not.
Secondly - We had no idea it was all about the satellite.

It's quite interesting reading your version of our little meeting, since I had no idea that we were sourrounded. I honestly thought it was just the two of you that were there (and you were scary enough!).

When you asked what we knew about the satellite, all three of us where so surpriced we didn't really know what to say (hence the "what satellite?!?"-comment). I figured we'd have to have something to give you in order to get away alive, so I tried to get a vision of the satellite. I have to tell you that I have no fortunetelling powers offgame what so ever, so everything was just made up at the moment. Anywho, it failed. I could tell that wasn't what you wanted to hear. Fine, figured I'd try to get some vision with you as the connectionpoint (it wasn't a palm reading), but all I "saw" was blood, death and a big grim smile. Your character really was a horrible person.
I was so certain that we'd be killed as soon as you figured we had nothing of value, that when you called the Firm-guys my heart practically skipped a beat. Thank you for giving me angst about not knowing anything, and fearing for my life. We really tried to get some info about the satellite from Crew so we'd have something to tell you on saturday, but they just laughed and said that we shouldn't know anything. So we failed. :P

well I'm guessing that it was the setup to the interrogation of the women is what me and my squad stumbled upon when we were dead and asked to move our regrouping point after getting accidentally ambushed by the firm whilst trying to attack the NAF base.. nice to know the reason why we were asked to move. At the time I was really concerned about hiding the identity of our company commander who was with us there.

While playing the religious, suppressive and old fashion clan leader Tor I experienced lots of good
LARPing from many people.

The UN players did a really good job of LARPing back at my naive almost hypo-critic person Tor,
who at the begining embraced the UN but at later
stage gave major critisim when the UN asked NAF for help. Off-game I felt
like a real asshole when Crazydog and Hell Viking tried/had to explain to
me why they where forced to ask for assistance from NAF, and afterwards
I criticize them for the lack faith.

All of my clan members put a lot of effort getting into there roles. I belive
that none of them ever carried a gun during the whole event to comply with the
clan belief of none violence. I'm very proud of everyone of you. Even though I
played an over protected, angry old fashion smuck as a father yelling all the
time, the fortune teller ladies played along with it.

Robman and his crew where really convincing as miners and hard labours.
I would have loved more LARP between us, but you where to well behaved. I missed some provocations :)

My character disliked banks and casinos, so I did not really have a chance
to interact with the bankers. But I had some fun engaging with one of
the casino employees in an verbal combat after he bought drinks for my girls.

The verbal fights with TheMayor where very entertaining. The last fight was
awesome where TheMayor had arrange a marrige between my daughter and one of
his clan members (behind my back). The assasination of my character was
unexpected, but since I felt that TheMayor and I had reach a climax in our
battle for power, I thought It would be best to terminate Tor as a character.

Seeing my own funeral was akwards but in the same time gave some depth to the
LARPing. Some of my clan members where angry (both in and off-game) after my murder,
which was a very intresting phenomena to experience. I even got the feeling some
people had bad conscious.

Finally, I want to give special credits and appreciations to the following players.

Isa & Doc (Playing as Jancos doctors) - The medication tasted excellent :)
Sarge (Police man and fixer) - Loved when you took control of that NAF platoon.
Pivo, Bora, Vandal (Police men) - For being so friendly. Big kudos.
Yelena, Mila, Olga (Jancos fortune tellers) - Sorry for all the yelling and for playing so suppressive.
Cor Angus (The young vibrant boy) - For being so young It was brave of you to participate.
Brother Timofej/CannonFodder (Jancos Munk) - Awesome outfit and for making the curch feel real.
Pete (Firm) - For excellent service :)
Hell Viking (UN MP) - For your patientience with my naive attitude.
Crazy Dog (UN Commander) - Again, for your patientience.
Freno (UN Commander) - For attending to my funeral :)
TheMayor (Leader of Caspari clan) - You are really good LARPer who gave me a lot of inspiration.
Robman (Leader of Shehukastre clan) - Loved your office and rock collection :)

Finally a big thanks to all other people I met during this year event that I forgot to mention.

I guess my best LARP memory would be when I was sent out to look for what would be the BC Bank's CEO that had been missing and was suspected to have been abducted by NAF.

Me and the other bank guard that accompanied me took a wrong turn in the forest and ended up sneaking up behind the NAF base without meaning to. We had met no gards on the way (even though we had followed the roads all the way there going past bunker after bunker) which led to that we had felt even more lost. We asked a NAF soldier for directions, hoping that he wouldn't see that we were armed (being an armed civilian this close to the NAF base seemed like a really bad idea). Luckily, the soldier seemed to be more interested in something else and after telling us which road to take we were on our way back to Janco.

Unfortunately, we stumbled into a NAF roadblock consisting of two pick-up trucks on our way back and this time we weren't as lucky. When they spotted the weapon and the radio I was carrying, we were captured and taken back to the NAF base for questioning.

To make a long story short, everything went well and we were released (and we even helped them withhold a Poldavian attack) but what made this event really stick to my memory was when I realized who had captured us (and believe me, it took me a while to realize it :D). It was what I believe was the second-in-command (right me if I'm wrong here) of the NAF forces. I think he called himself Black Wolf.
The best part is that he even gave us a ride all the way back home to Janco after the attack :D

A huge thanks to everyone for giving me such a great first Berget experience! :)

That moment was really fun! You gave me a challenge, love that! You were really pissed of, woman. Love to do that again! Thanks :D

Another moment I remember was when we were three UNsoldiers having a walk in Janco. We had some money and desided to visit the casino. We were told to leave our weapons outside, and we did. We had a fun time roleplaying with eachother and with the civ. inside the casino. After 10 min or so, it all went bad. Suddenly, the poldovians were at the back and front of the casino. The civ. inside the casino barricaded half of the door, so nobody could get out. Trapped! WOW, it was a lot of BB`s on the casino walls, and many poldovian voices outside. Great fun! Thanks to all inside the casino. :)

I was one of the three UN soldiers walking into Janco to spend some Berget Dollars and doing some roleplaying with the civilians. I stopped at the bank hoping to see if I could open an account, but because of the sporadic firefights the bank owner and guards had decided to close the bank.

So upon hearing about that we decided to visit the Casion/Pub just to see what the place was all about. And perhaps spend some money if no other UN personal was present. The walk over the to the casino was harmless and we spoke a little randomly to people along the way.

Upon entering the Casion we where asked to leave our rifles and pistols outside, with promises that it would be safe. I didn't see why not so I left my rifle and my pistol on the outside. Zoe and Kokos, nicknames of the UN collegues. Stepped inside and looked around, the room was fairly dark and it was hard to see what was inside. After a few moments the eyes adjusted and we spoke to the barkeeper that offered a menu of random drinks. Zoe was looking at the card table and I simply browsed the menu. Kokos decided to buy herself a drink and payed for it, as soon as she'd recieved the drink we hear a loud warcry "For Poldavia!"

Only seconds later the owner began to barricade the door with a variety of items. One being a table.

Kokos was a designated rifle(woman)man, however, she had no rifle so she was hiding behind the counter with the owner of the casino. I notice that the UN caps, which we took off once we entered the casino, where laying on the counter. I told the owner to remove them and hide them beneth. Both for their sake and ours.

Zoe and I where medics so we had some moral issues. Hiding inside a Casino while our friends are getting fired upon by the Poldavians. We did, however, agree that the best way for all our sakes was to stay inside and wait it out. We huddle up at the corner of the building, trying to stay out of sight. The Casino guards where aiming out the door and if anyone, who didn't have clearance, would be shoot.

One of the guards recieves a hit and lies down. Zoe gets him to safety and begins healing him. The owner asks if any of us has any guns, I kindly tell him that we left them outside. I ask him if he can send one of the guards out to collect them. He did previously tell me that the Poldavians don't shoot on them, primarily.

So just like that he sends out a guard to collect some guns for us. He removes the barricade and tells a guard to get the first weapon he can get his hands on. He gets my rifle and there is one problem. It's 10m safety distance. So I give it to Kokos who brings it upstairs so she can fire from the window towards the woods on the back of the Casino. I tell the owner again that I need a gun that I can use with 0-1 safety distance. He voxes to a guard on the opposite side of the street. He comes running grabs a weapon and gets inside. He got the weapon to Zoe.

I still don't have a gun, so we tilt the table outside as to block the view from the side where we suspect that the Poldavians are mainly firing from. I run outside, grab Kokos gun and my pistol. I get inside the door and I feel a single hit in the back and I fall as I get inside. The guard drags me into safety, and Zoe starts healing me. The guard returns to barricading the door and guarding it.

We stay in there for quite some time and help with the guard duty as we try to figure out how to get out. The owner asks us if we have a radio so we can contact the UN. Because according to him the UN are shooting at the Casino now aswell, that's when Kokos brings up a radio and radios the Coy-Commander of Nordic Platoon. We get a shady static response and have to improvise. I send out my cap and waves it around. Shortly after we recieve alot of UN members taking refugee in the casino.

For me this small event was enough to make me happy. I had loads of fun :) We talked to the owner during the whole incident and tried to figure out ways how to best NOT destroy his buisness. Was also fun for Zoe to go a little panicky saying that the Poldavians are going to capture us, me and Zoe, because we are medics. With a few sentances along the lines of "Yeah, they can try!" and "There not gonna get us!"

I loved the whole scene :)

However, when I arrived later that day in the afternoon/night the same owner told me to leave my weapon outside. I told him what happend last time. He smiled and I left my gun outside.

Thanks to Zoe, Kokos, The Casino Guards, (and a special thanks to the poldavians that attacked. Otherwise it wouldn't have occured) and the Casino Owner!

A great deal of good larping, though there was too much firefighting in Janco to really work perfectly.

We at the Ivanchuk Import and Export did a lot of funny deals during the game (sold one Chem-suit for 4000 BD among other things). None of us where carrying or using any weapons for the entire game, though we hid some items in our shop and sold a big mortar to the mining company (lucky for us the Poldavians searching our shop missed the big box with the word AT4 on it :D )

I ended the game by leaving Janco by car 50 minutes before game-off. By the end I owned the Ivanchuk Company and left the country with almost 18000 BD.
