Unknown Pol nominated for the Grand Asshole of Berget award

Post by Gravitas » 02 Jul 2012, 16:42

This year I saw the worst cheater in all of my years of airsoft. Have to share the story with you;

In B10 I was a NAF 3rd rangers Bandit company commander (Bandit-actual, or Bandit-zero, or India-Two-Zero on the radio). In the night between Friday and Saturday (when it rained a bit) my company A-Teams were on mission all over the map. I was personally with a combined element of two A-Teams at angel peak.

We took Angel peak at around 23:30 and I held a 1-man lone command/observation post there alone, while the rest of our guys commenced to hit&run Abandoned Village, which was held by the Poldavians.

I established an observation post about 20 meters from the Angel Peak flag and shelter, laying low in the ground, covered with branches and having my eyes over a rainy Tactical Point.

At 23:55, five minutes before midnight, a lone Poldavian soldier walks to the point with a wounded bandage on left arm and an orange dead flag on. He looks around carefully, doesn't seen anybody there. So he takes off the wounded bandage, takes off the orange dead flag. Grabs his rifle. Scans around in an alert fashion one more time. Then commenced to the tactical point flag and CHANGES it from blue to red. Then quickly runs away to the dark rainy forest..

Can't even begin to count how many rules that violated. He cannot spawn in a blue respawn point anyways. Cannot spawn at 23:55 in any case. Cannot change the flag when dead etc...

It was too dark to see his armband number. And I could not just run up to him because; 1) that would have given away my presence and position, 2) I was so angry there's a high chance I would have beat up the guy; and that's too dangerous as I am a former MMA fighter and can certainly clean the clock on just about anybody.

About 2 minutes later some of my NAF team was back (dead from the hit&run) we tried to locate the cheater in at the peak but he ran away from us.

Who ever that unknown Poldavian player was; I nominate him to be the grand asshole of Berget games. You are despicable. It's total morons like you who can ruin the game and the experience for everyone else. Don't think that when you choose to cheat there isn't anybody to see you - there's always a NAF ranger in the bush with eyes on you and your cheating won't go unnoticed..

In this instance we just changed the flag back to blue (nullifying that part of the cheating), but as we could not locate the cheater he still had the benefit of getting a cheated respawn and probably some intel to share confirming that there's NAF at the tactical point...

Seriously people; are you really this stupid? You come all the way to a great event like Berget just to cheat in every way you can? If somebody from my own command would cheat in such a manner - I would contact Berget crew and recommend banning that player in two ways; for the remainder of the game, and permanently for future events.

I seen too many cheaters this year. Being my first Berget, i sincerely hope nextyear will show less cheaters.

Its a gentlemans game. Take your hits, follow the rules. Cheating ruins the whole idea of the game.

I DO wish youd seen his armband number...

Wow, that's low...

Did you see what kind of gear he was wearing, or anything else?

I would like to nominate the poldovian SF sniper prisioner that decided to do a runner from the naf base (while supposed to be handcuffed and shackeled) ignoring about 15 people shooting him on full auto, me yelling at him and chaising him. He dived into the bushes and hid only giving himself up when he was surrounded and used the excuse that he didnt feel the shots and he didnt hear me ( i was heard 300 meters away on the other side of the base( i can be loud when needed)) and I had to excort, with the aid of several naf players, as i was in agony with my knee back to the base and was eventualy handed over to berget crew. Sir you can be proud of the fact that you were chaised down and captured by a cripple
I would like to appoligise for raising my voice at you on the trip back to the base but the fact that you refused to admit to your behavour and the pain in my knee made me slightly annoyed.

Naturally it was dark and raining so only partial description is possible, but here's what I have got:

Looked to be around 175cm tall, thin build, narrow face, dark brown hair, woodland camo (or similar) with minimal kit (perhaps just a belt with pouches or minimal chest rig), general looking rifle (not a spiner rifle). Might have had a backside partial Ghillie on (didn't see his back that well, he was facing towards me).

When my dead NAF team came back 2 minutes later, one of our A-Team leaders (same as a platoon commander) saw the guy, tried to shout to him off game (I had radioed in about the cheating immediately so he had heard what happened on the radio while being dead) - but he simply ran off to the night and we could not locate him again.

Yeah, I heard you talking about this in respawn area during the final fight. This makes me sick.

My vote in this year's Grand Asshole of Berget awards goes to this unknown turd.

I know it's next to impossible to find this guy, but you and BE should dig this even for a little and see if anything turns out. A lot of people on this forum are going thru lots and lots of photographs, so there is always a chance...

I heard that somebody stole a sniper rifle worth 2500 € from the sniper who broke his leg. If this is true, I'd nominate him(/her) the Grand Asshole of the game.

While no doubt such behaviour is unacceptable from any milsim players regardless of armband colour, the majority of players I fought with and against were honourable and respectful players and should be commended for the manner in which they carried themselves, not to be overshadowed by foul play :)

Ancle is broken indeed, but the rifle was taken by his team mates. Thank God not stolen!

Here is my assembly of top four. It will be mostly NAF but at this point I would like to say it is not nice to generalise such behaviour to any side or nationality. These characters are born in every village and country in the world and play for any side unfortunatelly. Three of these incidents happened during Sappers destroying the road to NAF base on Thursday at from 13:00 - 16:00.

1. NAF soldier got picked up by a civilian silver van with licenseplate number "Gö TX-42" from Germany. After I shot the soldier in front of the van, I was awarded a stupid look and he boarded the van without the orange rag or bleedout or whatever. The van driver threw out orange flag (really, an ingame vehicle?) and returned towards the direction of base.

2. Foliage green Jeep Cherokee flying a swedish flag and a blue flag were ignoring visibly set mines and roadblock which said: ROAD DESTROYED.

3. A swedish SUV, tan-coloured with a confederation flag on hood drove through the "destroyed road" signs with orange flag (destroyed vehicle driving out of base with operators inside? Were you going to a convenient store, maybe?). When the truck passed all mines and signs, the orange flag was pulled back in the vehicle and the car was ready for fighting! Amazing.

I will do my very best, mech guys, that you will be footsies or not at all at any future Berget game. And I would do this to a poldavian or zansian aswel, with the very same passion!

Oh yeah, 4. - NAF member armband #496 was reported by me to the crew for totally innappropriate behaviour - shouting curses and threats to players he claimed he had hit. If you can not control your anger then please, do not play airsoft.

Feel free to feel stupid.

This sort of bitching, after the fact on Internet forums regarding cheating is never helpful.

Herrnilson.

I dont think thats true.

Getting this out in the open, and getting rid of those who clearly cheat or bend the rules can only be helpful.

Those of us who follow the rules, rely on the rules and use the rules to have a great game, have it somewhat destroyed by those who dont follow, rely and/or use the rules.

It only benefits getting rid of those players who dont want to be a part of the big picture.

Its a game. Play by the rules. Its simple. And getting it out in a internet forum designed for the game, is and should be the right place to do it.

@Brujo
I truly wish you had contacted NAF Mech CO´s directly and we would have dealt with it emedietly. It makes me sad to read such things after the game when I could have sorted it out on site and hopefully eased some of your frustration.

Unless you have video or photographic evidence now after you've got home, it really doesn't help at all.

Cheating should be dealt with at the time preferably with the involvement of a game marshal.
