In my opinion we did some missions with too many vehicles. It was my first time in a mechanised company and probably my last :( . Some of the missions we could execute with only a small scout car or quad and vehicles could be used to transport other companies to or from frontlines. Instead whole company was sent out, wasting time, fuel and energy. I don't know it that was HQ or coy CO decision but I must write my opinion.

I would suggest to Berget Events to put their own drivers (and rotate them in shifts) behind the wheels and provide dropoff and pickup service for all companies inside NATO for instance.
On the first point, We all went out together because while the area was big, the usable roads according to our instructions where not. Thus we had only one mech mission at a time, and as you know, not a whole lot of missions anyway. I had planned on splitting the groups up more regularly, but that was when I expected there were more roads for us to use.

On you second point, this is exactly what I will suggest to BE as well. I think the drivers went above and beyond in driving non foxtrot company members around: For the benefit of those who are not informed, The drivers in foxtrot were players here with their own teams, thus driving with their teams in the back was the priority. I did ask in the forums pre-game for other potential drivers (and thus their teams could also have used the trucks, but got zero responses).

Being part of the FOX4 mech unit, I would like to give a big thankx to Deki, because he really made an effort for his (and our:) unit to enjoy B6. Since we did not have a driver, he always took us on "their" missions and explained everything on the way. Also, probably the best experience I personally had was sneaking into (or towards) the Merc base (which He had arranged) and then being about 5m away from the main road, with patrols looking for us, at times looking at us, but still not being able to locate us:)
I really think that he is what a commander should be and would like to thank him once again :)

And Frik - the driver - he drove tooo much and he even drove us to the parking lot after the game was finished :D

Well, I have been waiting a little while with my evaluation of Berget 6. First of all I have been criticising my self and asking my self what I could have done better. Sure, once in a while I overlooked that we are in airsoft and not in the military, I do beg forgiveness. A lot of you players had no idea what Brujo and I had to put up with. :(
All in all it went quite well I think and lots and lots of players whos names are too many to mentioned, worked their proverbial ass off. Big THANKS GUYS !
I in particular would l like to thank Brujo and his Adjudant Spirit who were great to work with, even though we were not allways of the same oppinion. Further more, I am proud to have had the opportunity of meeting a big bunch of great people. :)

Awesome experience!!!

Post by frosty-il » 04 Jul 2008, 22:46

Hello all, this is Roy from Israel, proud member of India 1 (aka the best hardcore MFing bunch of airsoft players out there!!).

I just want to send out my love to you guys, and point out a few important things:

1. This was our first time at Berget, and first international airsoft game outside of Israel.
2. And it was F*CKing awsome!

3. We would've never enjoyed it as much if not for our amazing friends and teammates there, Ian, the Danish dudes, the Finnish dudes, the Alaskan mofos, Ugene, the Irish of course! (which I am sorry we only connected with at the party, but we will of course stay in contact!), and anybody else from India 1 I may have forgot.

4. India 1 played amazingly. We are all proud here with the way India 1 executed missions. We made a name for ourselves, and we showed the rest of the game players that we were a force to be reckoned with!

5. Ian, you are awesome man. We enjoyed spending time with you, in and out of the game, and of course we could not of hoped for a better commander.

6. Dennis and the Danish folk. We had a great time with you guys. I personally believe you guys were the best players in Berget. Your guys skills shined, and we were extremely happy to fight by your side. I will do it again any given day! As people, you were all cool and friendly, and we thank you for that.

7. The Finnish dudes. I send my love to you guys, and hope you enjoyed the game as much as we did. You were good company, and tolerated our snores at night, so that says something too :)

8. Mo and the Alaskans, you guys were funny as Hell to be around. Thank you for fighting at our side, you were good soldiers and friends. Besides that, Mo was the best damn medic I have yet seen! Go Mo!

9. Ugene, we had a great time with you as well. Keep in touch!

10. The Irish! I really do regret the fact that we only started talking at the party, because you are all an amazing bunch of people! I would gladly fight by your side any day, and wish that day will come soon! hehe
I hope you guys had a good time, and make sure to keep in touch, or else I will personally hunt you all down

I hope i didn't forget anyone..

here are a few pics to remind you all of the fun:

2Roy: I was the one who tolerated your snores at night :)

2All_Indians_Out_there: As Roy sad, you guys made our Berget 6 experience unique and unforgettable. So whenever your feel an urge for some sun, sea and a cold beer, please remember you have a place to stay in Tel-Aviv and friends to share your fun with.

2Our_Own_Jack_Bauer: Ian, your dedication made our game THE GAME. It was fun hanging out with you in Stockholm and I'm sorry if we were a bit indecisive about food :). Good luck with your new beginning, I know you'll do great. And one more thing... count us in for the Town Assault.

2All_NATO_coys: It was much fun playing with you guys. Special thanks to our Italian friends for the pasta (yummy) and to the Norwegians for being exemplary vikings :).

2NATO_HQ: Being a foot soldier haven't had much interaction with you, but for what i can tell, i hope you wont be spending the rest of you days in a nut house (just kidding). Special thanks to Timo, awesome job mate, you were the best base commander ever.

2UN: Great roleplay guys. I will remember that quarantine hour :).

2SRP: Only one thing i have to say to you - öljy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

2GCM: You've been great adversaries, attacking us around the clock. Nice...

2BE: Great job, I can only imagine what an enormous effort is to organize all the logistics for such an event. Just one remark. I personally would expect a kind of a formal closure on Saturday, with all the sides and players present.

2ALL: Love you guys, will join B7 for sure.

Truly yours,

You forgot, when sending your regards to the Italians, that whenever we heard an Italian accent behind us, we immediatly dropped to the ground screaming "PARMA PARMAAAA", waving our hands in the air, so that we would not be shot at :D hehe

I had so much fun, definatly going next year, but have learned from this event.

Big thanks to ian for showing us the ropes, it made the event feel like a true milsim instead of just a skirmish.

Next year planing on bringing our own tent, and also a stool with the center cut out(place over hole and instant toilet)
Also going to buy a 5 gallon water container, spray it black and stick a shower connector on it, it will heat up in the sun so you can have a luke warm shower instead of a bloody freezing one.

India 1 Section 2 After action report

India 1 Section 2 After action report

Hello,
This is Michael Moe from India 1 Section 2, I was with the Alaskans as a medic, and in a sqaud with the danes. I healed MANY people, I was wearing cadpat and wielded a G36. In 11PM, were in Prague, Czech, Ive had a couple shots of Vodka, and this bulletin board doesnt have spell check =)

Day 1 Night 1-

India was deployed to find a downed black hawk with a black box. We deployed around a farm area via convoy and slowly went down the trail. We went extremely slow due to darkness and never found our target. However our front squad did manage to find a surafce to air missile and stole it. In my opinion less stealth should have been used, especially with 3 platoons traveling, if there are enemies in wait, they will spot us.

Day 2-
Awoke late from various gun fights and screaming. Went out to investigate and woke up the rest of my Alaskan mates, the danes were already up. We were told a mission would be soon and to be ready. After 2 hours our orders came down. The Black Hawk was going to be used in a propaganda video by the mercarnioes to show their power. We deployed with the Israel squad in front (Indian 1?) they were very cautious (More then my liking), but they did the job, with a little navigation help from the Danes and Kyles GPS. We came to the clearing of the blackhawk and began moving into the field. We had sepratists to the left and right of the hawk, and mercnaries on it. We approached and made an agreement with the sepratitists to give us control of the hawk. Upon moving in heavy fire began from both sides. I attended to 4 Israeli soldiers, and one Sepratists. Once we had control of the black hawk we split our ways with the sepratists and took a mercnary prisoner (Good sport). We than preprared to hold our perimeter to 3PM (Our goal). All was well and we completed our mission. I found out I lost my hat though, so I entered the field to find my hat along with an Israeli, losing my hat was good fortune though. Mid-field artillerry began being fired on the black hawk and we had 4 wounded. I attended to a fellow medic and our platoons were in full working order, but within minutes another artillery blast landed and we suffered our first casualties.

We left the area and finnaly came in to contact with base and set up a evacuation point. We had some conflict issues for directions which was taking precious time so I shot my weapon, and said we need to move. GPS was very helpful for navigation. We got to the the convoy and had to stuff our bodies, we didnt have room for the prisoner. I suggested we let him ago, but our platoon leader wasnt so merciful, at first he attempted to shoot the prisoner in the head, but the pistol jammed. Guy suggested again we let him go, but our platoon leader slit his neck. I attempted to report these actions, but apparently it is common of the non-American NATO forces to murder prisoners in cold blood. We arrived at base at around 4-5PM. to

Day 2 night-
We waited till about 7 for orders and none had arrived, and than the Israelis said we could get deployed to aid the UN base in defense, 5 Israelies, and the 4 Alaskans boarded a truck and headed to the UN base. On the way we saw men in chemicals suits and were told that a virus had been released back home at the NATO base. Upon arrival at the UN base we were put under gun point and put into Quarantine. We were quite angry, but what could we do. The Israelis were quite persistent at arguing with our captors, and when they had the 3 weapons pointed at one, I knocked him out. ((The UN placed us on a hill covered with poison ivy, but we were not really affected)) (They revealed to us they did have a cure. I attempted to give a after action report once we got to base, but they werent interested.) After an hour they let us go, saying at truck would arrive for us in 20 minutes. Soon an hour passed and our platoons set out down the road home. Then we ran into contact with Mercanary forced with a Mobile Missile System and tank, along with 15-20 troops. Although we did not have anti-tank weaponry we depolyed on both sides of the road pincering their troops between a lake and a creek, if they wanted to pass, they would be slaughtered. They went right past us, and our right flank opened fire and with the tanks attention on them the left flank killed the remaining soldiers. We had many wounded, but due to the survival of one medic our platoons were in good shape. Their one tank moved on to attack the UN base we believe. ((The soldiers also "respawned" 100 feet down the road from us, we assume they had a new respawn and this was part of a game even.)

We held position on the road for a while in which we saw many wounded NATO forces travel by in a convoy, we knew our boys had been slaughtered in an attempt to aid the UN. This is where our squads split apart, the Israelis and one Alaskan went to the entrance of the UN head on, and 3 of choose to sneak into the UN. We approached from the hilly terrain in the woods and came under fire from the UN, upon confirming our identies they let us in. Their commander informed us due to the situation that we could not stay and help them, I was quite confused by this matter, but we accepted the situation. They began to escort us out, and all of sudden the UN commander took a hit to the chest, I quickly hit the dirt and began medical attention on him. I wish we couldve stayed to help the UN. Upon escape from the UN base we ran across mercnaries again, except they majority of them were dead, respawning we assumed. We re-entered the woods in an attempt to make it home, in the woods we ran parallell to the road, came across at least 50 mercnaries. We hit the ground and waited to see what was going to happen. Then they began skirmishing with the UN forces and we knew it was our time to make a difference. With at least 20 soldiers in front of us we opened fire taking out at least 10-15 soldiers, the rest of the forces began blindly firing into the woods and the 2 soldiers with me were taken out (Mitch/Peter), I remained in cover and they sent some sentries to make sure the woods were safe, whom I shot. Than after a countdown the deafening noise of 20-30 rifles was my death. We marched back to the NATO base.

At the base the majority of people were already hitting the tents, when we came under attack by none other then the mercnaries. There were so many people yelling medic, that I dropped my rifle and went to work. I healed 2-3 right off the bat, and went to the temporary medical station by the snack shop, where troops were being dragged. I ran out of bandaids, and went to my tent for more. Afterwards, the fighting moved to around the command station, and so did I. I healed some of my Israeli comrads, various others, and an italian. But as I was healing one of the italians, one of their medics hit the dirt next to us and friendly fired me on accident. ((The bullets hit my bare hand from less than a foot away leaving large bruises and wounds I still have today 12 days later.)) The bullets went through my hand and the medic apolgized and healed me. I continued to heal our troops as we pushed the enemy back. I healed at least 20 of our men this fight, went to base and passed out exhausted from all the sprinting.

Day 3- Woke up at 9ish being told we were going to be deployed, we finnaly got deployed at 12 to contact the sepratists to barter for use of their medical facilties (respawn) We made it to then with little trouble and set up a perimeter while the alliance was discussed. We were told that they hade made a deal with the mercnaries and that we could ambush them. A win-win for both our teams, but this never happened, insteaded our ambush waited the and the mercnaries attacked the sepratists. Our platoon moved up to the mountain region where I healed many sepratists, and was shot by a mercnary from below. After being healed I continued the push with the sepratists and we stop the mercnary attack. We headed back to the bunker, where we found out that some of our troops were stuck. Getting ready to run to our men, I took a hit to the chest, and again was healed. The Medic warned me of a grenade trap behind, so I didnt move and waited for a chance to cross the road, but in the excitement and in setting down my weapon so I could sprint to help our downed men, I set off the mine. I was heavily wounded. (Dumb mistake) Upon waking up (Respawning) in the sepratist medical center, I was welcomed with the faces of my squad and the Israelis. We were ordered to deploy and attack the mercnary base, the journey was actionless, and we arrived aftered the mercnary base was taken. Artillery began shelling our location and we moved out, unaware of the ambush awaiting us on the road.

We were walking down a road to meet a convoy when we met a russian who said: Are you game on? he was wearing a death flag... Once we answered he yelled FIRE. A very shameful act, he should of approached alive or just fired on us.

Both the men to my left and right were wearing multi-cam and took multiple shots, I guess my woodland saved me as I hit the dirt and began healing them, many fellow soldiers were wounded in this battle, many died. I went through 6 of my bandaids, and another 2 healing a couple sepratists. In the end only the 4 Alaskans remained, the rest of the NATO forces had either split or died. It was an off game zone, us, and the mercnary forces, we waited in ambush for revenge... Upon them coming in range, I shouted our motto. AMERICA! followed by my men yelling --- SPAM !!! --- YEAH! In the initial opening burst we killed 4-5 mercnaries but again all 3 of my comrades were nailed, while my woodland camo concealed me when they have multicam targets. Unfortuantly I had one bandaid left and noway to reach them. The mercnaries began moving forward, I saw one to the left approximetly 20 feet away, crawling on his knees all I could see was his head. With a quick burst and yelling AMERICA I took off his head. Upon his hit he kept yelling at me that he didnt have a death rag, and stared right at me giving away my position to the other Mercanaries, another came to a position which I shot yelling AMERICA and came under fire from at least 6-7 people. I was dead.

Overall I had a awesome trip coming out here, there was alot of waiting which I did not mention because their was so much of it. But I hear it was even worse for other platoons. I didnt do much shooting as being a medic is a full time job, in my opinion. I was very pleased the performance of India. The navigation was very slow in my opinion, especially when we had 3 platoons during 2 missions. If you are that worried about enemy contact, we shouldve have sent out point men. Thanks to the Danes and Israelis for their comradery, and the fun time at the beer party, I was totally out of it. Good games.

And hello to all those I healed who were not in our platoon, especially the sepratists who payed me for my work.

I tend to disagree on this. I was a witness to this incident, being with the bandits (we've handed over a MLRS tank to general Conrad few minutes earlier) and we were surprised to see massive amounts of NATO forces walking down from the mercs base. So we made contact with the NATO forces (we didn't tell them what was our business there because of obvious tactial reasons  ) to investigate whether they were in game or not and to find out what was going on. After a short discussion a Russian guy walked out of the woods on the opposite side of the road and asked whether we were all dead or in game. When some of the NATO guys responded yes, he just shouted "lads, they're in game" (I happen to be fluent in Russian), and stayed there receiving numerous hits from all directions, as all hell broke loose, without firing a single shot himself, as he was off game.
Now, I don't think calling this a shameful act is right. He had his mercs hidden in the woods on the opposite side of the road without any of the NATO forces (or us "civilians" for that matter) being aware of that. They could have just laid a massive barrage of fire and no one could have had objected against that. But I suppose being unsure of the status of the people in the open on the road (massive number of troops, totally careless and definitely not moving in anything resembling a tactical movement) they didn't want to hit any off game people unnecessarily, so he we want off game to investigate - and when he found out he just shouted "they're in game". I say hats off to that, nice act of sportsmanship. Being a trustee myself, I just can't think of a more fair way to solve the situation.

Quite a comprehensive report mo and I am glad you had a good time.

FYI mate, we as a whole was 1 single platoon which comprised of 3 squads/sections. Agreed, if we were 3 platoons (a company) then we could have moved faster because we would have had the fire power to deal with a significant size threat. But with only 3 squads and a total of 28 players deep behind enemy lines then I wanted to be cautious.

The killing of captured soldiers is not something non-American NATO members tend to do. However, we were not facing soldiers, we were facing an enemy threat made of mercenaries, hired guns, dogs of war, whatever you want to call them. There are different rules for these guys. Did you know that american mercenaries were captured during the Falklands conflict fighting for the Argentinians? When the Argentinians were captured they were treated as prisinors of war. When the mercenaries were captured, British soldiers shot them dead on the spot. Well that is what I have been told.

Bottomline, I felt I was quite humane. I told him he 5 seconds to start talking, he didn't so that was that. I gave the bloke a chance. Plus, I don't let mercenaries go. I will either take them back to base or slot them there and then. We did not have the room in the truck for him, so that sealed his fate.

I hope to see you next year mate. :)
