Did you get the epidemic cold at B6?

Post by Mixmaster » 10 Jul 2008, 19:36

25% of my company (oscar coy, about 15 people) caught the cold at B6, including me. It was almost epidemical... Even they are spread in 4 different tents.

It startet with fever and a lots of snarl. After some days it ended up with slimy coughing (which have'nt ended yet).
They all had to stay home from work for two or more days.

I'm just curious if this has been a common problem among other companies after Berget?
Maybe the Oscar Coy is iregular close to each other. It sure felt like it in a positive way.
But what did really happen in those tents all the way to the left during the game... ;)

Since the spread of the disease was this comprehensive. Some of us might think it came from the drinking water or from the showers.

But since it seems that only Oscar coy got infected. Then maybe it was locally airborne in our tents.

According to my doctor it's a virus-based cold, resulting in snot and lung-slime needing heavy coughing. I'm on a temporary cure by means of Cosylan, which dampens the coughing so I can sleep. This is however not a final cure, so if the slime-coughing persist more than two weeks I'll be put on antibiotika like penicillin or something like that.

My personal suspicion is that we got infected through the air by droplets or flying particles since the drinking water doesn't appear to have infected others. Or maybe mildew in the tents? Just speculating.

I got a bit of a cold, but I usually catch one when traveling anywhere with a big time difference (20 hours difference for us Alaskans.)

Last year at B5 I had a cought just about the entire time.

I've still got a bit of a runny/stuffy nose here and there, and the coughing that goes along with that. It's definitely manageable, and it's gotten better since B6.

Next year I need to pump my body full of better food, vitamins, Airborne, and the like.

Some of us in Baker India Mercs got the same flue we think. Because of flying objects? Maybe it was to many flying bb´s in camp?! :-)
