Renting a radio

Post by Yakuza_Dragon » 16 Jan 2012, 19:34

Good evening,

I wanted to know if I can rent a PX-888 from BE.

I have read that platoon commanders and above receive one from BE, other players bring their own.

However we use other radio and buying one for Berget is not worthwhile, so is there an option to rent one from BE?

At least for squad commanders?

Thanks.

Berget UHF net is for company level and above, meaning except for some recon elements, nobody belowe platoon commander vil need a radio in that freq range, there is not enought freq for platon and squad level coms. So simple answere, you dont need one.

Buy one since they are so cheap nowadays. We sell them in our webshop btw ;)

You can program them to be used at squad-level channels.

Puxing has a new dual band version the PX-888K which is the same price as just the UHF version:

And yes the Puxing and Wouxun radios use Kenwood 2 pin plug accessories.

Nice find. The spec lists "8 scramblers option" which leads me to wonder if it is backwards compatible with the older puxing voice inversion scrambler. My experience has been that BE programs the scrambler to be turned on by default, which is unfortunate since it makes it hard for non puxing radios to be part of the official radio net.

The scrambler is really just an inverter, so I would actually have to get my hands on a K version and test. Inversion normally has two modes, inverted and not. So that might be combined into some other new modes.
