Tics can cause borhelia disease - a nasty one which can make people out of jobs due to neurological consequences. I'll most certainly bring a tick removal kit, but don't expect them that far north.

In the end, you can expect tics, knots and mosquitos.
Always expect the unexpected, and you will not be suprised :)

An insect repellant is an absolute must ! Make shure you pack that first.
With all other stuff you are in danger to fall under Murphies Law. You always need what you have forgotten to pack. :D :)

Bumb and a little update on this one.
Ive got some of the equipment I need.

Field gear:
Eye Protection in diffrent kinds. (glasses, masks, gasmask)
Boots
Death Rag
Tsunami Vest mount for equipment and water.
Arsenal: Primary with spare, secondary with spare. And 2 springers.
(Can BB's be bought at berget? Had some problems with customs before)
1-2 batteries for both primary and spare.
Knee Pads
Gloves
compass

Off-game gear:
Sleeping bag
Sleeping pad
Bathroom stuff (Toothbrush, towel, soap)
Mosquito repellant
"One man pack" (Bandage for real injuries)
Camo face paint

There are some things a want answers to:
1. In the tents. Do you sleep on the ground or in bunk beds?

2. Is it possible to buy gas and BB's at berget?

3. How many batteries do you use for one weapon at berget? Personal experience is great.

I'll probably ask some more questions when we get closer to start. Its a little important to ask now since I have to measure the weight as Im going to fly to berget.

Also if you want to add anything to my list, just shout out. I'll sure as hell add shit to it at a later point.

2. Yes, there are usually a few retailers keeping shop in the mainsafe.
Most of them even take pre-orders.

3. Support 2-3bats, infantry 1-2 bats.. (speed chrgr is a must..)

batteries

Post by yasirotta » 05 Apr 2009, 21:27

Well, its better have 2 batteries than just one big. Last year my friends battery went broke at the middle. And anyway, it never know what can happen. So, i think two batteries of 1700mah or 1900mah is ok. Always it depends how much you are shooting or how powered your gun is. More important is, that dont let your spare battery be in cold. At night, temperature can go below zero in degrees.

That eats batteries charge a little if that lies at ground in your tent. So, i think i could use first battery 1700mah and keep bigger one at spare.

I got one on 1700mah, and one on 3500mah.
So that was my plan.

I also have a smart charger that discharges the batteri before it charges it again.

If it gets cold: NiCd is better than NiMH, and mAh dont really matter as much as low internal resistance and large physical size.

A good NiCd, like Sanyo SCR 1900mAh Large will work about as good in +5C as in +25C, not so for NiMH, they drop preformance drastically when the temp drops and NiMH almost useless in +5C, and are useless below 0C. I have used good NiCds in lower than -10C and they work great. But there shouldnt be any colder temps than about 10-15C during 2300-0400 period, but can be.

And remember: Shit happens.

I know Sweden and Norway at summertime. And it does not get very cold at night.
Both my batteries are NiMH as I discoverd now. But I hope they'll do alright when the sun goes down.
I always got my shotgun if something should go down.

I've been using Intellect 9,6V 1400mAh NiMH for the last summer and winter with no problems. Okay, the battery dies in half the time than on summertime but that's like worth whole days airsofting. I can run my M100 gun for the whole weekend with just one battery but I still carry the extra one just in case.

Just saying that there are good and not-so-good cells (I've been told that Intellect is the best, atleast around here in Finland), the old NiMHs did just as you said, they'd drop dead at 0 Celsius. But I've been running mine in -10 Celsius for whole day and all I've noticed is a drop in ROF. And of course that can be a problem for someone else :P

I use my Ansmann AC480 (hope I got that right, smart-/speedcharger anyways) to charge them, takes about 4h per battery to get it full. And about the discharging of batteries; NiMH do not appreciate it, they do not need it like NiCd do.

+ an extra role armband if you are medic/egineer

Most of my gear is good to go, but here is still things to do.
-I need to make the Armband w/ ID and a Engineer armband. Im probably going to head down to the local tailoring store and see if I can have one made.
-Deadrag. Ill just get a nice orange Reflex vest for a few bucks.
-Plane tickets. Unfortunately my friend and driver double booked the dates of the events and could not attend.
-Because Im flying, I need to pack very smart. I dont have many kilos to go with eighter. 20kg for luggage, 15kg for weapons and around 10 for hand luggage. Hopefully this will be enough.
-Getting the rest of the gear. Hopefully my Multicam Combat Uniform will arrive this week along with the rest of the stuff.
