Sweden sim card

Post by EagleDriver » 19 May 2011, 21:02

I have never been to Sweden before, so I would like to know if there is a store in or near the Stockholm Arlanda airport that I can buy a prepaid SIM card? I have an unlocked GSM phone that I use in Germany to use it with. Thank you!

You can get them at all "Pressbyrån", quite a few exists right inside the terminals.
Ask for "Comviq Kontant".

In regards to what telecom operator to go for I don't know who has the best coverage up in Northern Sweden. All I know is that my cell worked just fine up at Berget before and I run with Tele2 Comviq.

How much would it for a prepaid card with internet access (3g/edge)?
What data plans are available from Telia?

Prepaid cards are 100 SEK, then you can charge them with more money.

If you want a 3G plan you'll have to call their customer service after you've bought the pre paid SIM-card and have them upgrade it (this is at least the info I found on short notice while at work).

Vova, I found this pricelist for prepaid plan: https://www.tewss.telia.se/docs/prislis ... p_1139.pdf.

They charge 9 SEK per day, or 29 per week or 499 per year for unlim data transfer (up to 500 MB per month, then cut the speed to 57 kB/s). And looks like they block file download and IP-telephony, which is understandable for them as a mobile operator but is bad for me as a consumer.

Calls to Russia - 12,5 SEK per minute: http://www.telia.se/privat/priser/mobil ... andet.page :(

If I correctly understood the footnote #10 at the bottom of pricelist. Skype is also a type of IP-telephony. I very much relied on this Telia SIM-card for Skype, but bad luck...
