Very little action!!!!!

Post by Pavel_Moscow » 09 Jul 2011, 19:09

I played Poldavian Mountaineers, 1 company, Russsians.

Day 1 - 2 times action, attack on bunker (had been taken out with rocket) and some shooting in the forest
Day 2 - about 2 times action, including 1 quiet long offensive action near NAF base and Western check-point (don't remember exactly)
Day 3 (rain) - 2 times action (some shooting on little groups of NAF while holding a road near NAF base and, in the evening, attack of NAF group near the Cemetery)
Day 4 - good, attack on Janco, then many fights with NAF

So, about just 2 firefights per play-day. Usually, we've got much more action during the local tranings and games.

No one claimed berget was speedball, plus you played on the milsim unit.

I'm sorry for you if your Berget experience was not satisfying for you, but it is often said (in the veterans corner and info page for example) that you should be prepared, that Berget is not a skirm and you don't have action 24/7.

Yes, UN told me they also told be they had been attacked quite often, but offensive action (which we had in 90%) is much more interesting than sitting with a machingun in some good position.

People come quite a long way to Sweden, and most of them got just "go up - go down" most of the day. That's quite frustraiting.

Berget could make a final fight like 500x500 people.

A good thing - no attack on camps. There were a lot of belongings near tents (guns, generators, food) and big fighting could become a mess.

There are ups and downs, but mostly ups - and nothing ever comes close to Berget in big games - despite its many flaws and outsize operations. :D

@Pavel_Moscow - we better read these threads again and be better prepared next time. I was bored out of my skin this year, but that only means better preparations in choosing a role and kit for Next Year:

I talked to infatry (which, as I understand, is for common"action" players"), and there also were little firefights - 2..3 times per playday.

To be honest having a limited amount of fighting per day with lots of patrolling etc is to be experienced when joining a milsim unit. I think there's been plenty of warning of this, too.
Strike 1 for wildlife: Cape Buffalo are said to have killed more big game hunters than any other animal :D

And that just depends on what you like.

In ZBO Bravo team we were happy that we almost accomplished our mission without any contact in Saturday.
I personally was in an intense fIrefight only in Thursday. Other days involded almost no shooting at all.

In Berget style terrain I'm just wondering how much it would be different from a fight of 100 vs. 100

In three Bergets our camp has been attacked several times... I see no problem here, unless you don't care to be prepared.

If you are in a milsim unit and your complaining about lack of action, you were in the wrong battalion. I found the most rewarding part of being in a milsim unit to be finally attacking after hours of preparation and walking or defending well after a well planned out patient defense. You can't get that in your Sunday speedball game

Like every one said, this is not a speed ball game.
But I hope people joins this event for the fun, not the hostile action.
We didn't have 10 contacts a day, but DAMN we had fun! even while sittin in base duty for 11h. We came, we saw, we conquered! 8)

If you're coming to Berget to have more trigger time than at home, you're at the wrong place...

I don't recommend Berget to anyone who thinks shooting at people is the most important aspect of airsoft (typically beginner players, only with only a few years of experience have this urge).

There was same amout of action (expect UN, who told they were attacked frequently) in all other divisions.
