Sent AEGs to Berget

Post by HiTeck7 » 12 Nov 2012, 09:43

hi guys,

berget 11 will be my first berget and of course there are some questions. most of them were ansered by the forum and the berget info page.

but there is still some things i want to know about AEG transport.

because i'm from austria, we will come by plane to berget event. to prevent troubles with the airline, the costums and to make sure, that my guns arrive safe i want to sent my AEGs to berget crew by mail.

is it recommended to do this?

we (i and my team) want to build a wooden box where your guns are inside, protected well against wetness, shocks ect.
which company to you prefer to send the box (DHL, UPS, ...)??
do you have any idea, how much it will cost?

please give me an idea, how i can handle this the best way!!

I send my guns last year and it worked very well. I send them from Germany and used dercourier.de with picupservice after the game ended. The transport was handeled by GLS and Schenker. My 140x30x20 box with 40kg cost me about 80 euros plus 60€Berget fee.
When you want to build a wodden box, keep in mind that the package will be extremely big and heavy. Most transport companies have a maximum weight and size (http://dercourier.de/content/unternehmen/faq.asp#q5 -> there are more infos in german, if you are interested)

I packed my guns in my normal gunbox and stuffed it with some gear in a cardboard box, and had no damages or similar on the inside.

thx for answers.

i got another question: what about the batteries? we have LiPo's and traveling by plane.
- whats the best way to bring them?
- will we get problems at the security check at the airport?
- should we put the batteries to the AEGs? (don't like this option, because i saw terrible videos on youtube, what can happen to LiPo's)

For LI-PO batteries exists a special bag named Lipo-Guard '' FIREPROOF LI-PO SAFETY CHARGE BAG ''.You can put inside your batteries and you will not have any problem. This type of bag, works against the fire. This is the only safe way for them.Take an idea in this link http://www.greekairsoft.gr/eshop/produc ... oduct=2190

In my experience, the swedes don't even bat an eye over it.
When I flew in, security at my departure (Brussels) asked a few questions, asked me to unpack the weaponry, and do a little chat to check my story. When I arrived in Sweden, nobody gave a shit :P

When I went back home it went even better, I reported my 'air-pellet toys' at check-in and was asked to wait for a separate security check. They just fed my luggage through the scanner and asked whether or not I had any gas-containers in my pack (turned out to be a bottle of bb's), I didn't even have to unpack anything.
That was at Bromma Airport, though. I don't know if the larger airports will be quite as relaxed.

/edit: just be sure you don't make any stops in countries where airsoft has some serious legal issues
