Ammo Limits - Clarification

Post by Torak » 03 Oct 2006, 16:41

After much debate, where the set information was quoted and ignored many times, here are the finalised rules for ammo limits:

Ammo Limits

Standard weapons: Max 90BB/mag
Semi-sniper: Max 30 BB/mag. Mags to be marked with blue tape.
Light Support Weapons: Max 150 BB/mag. Must have box or C-mag, not standard hicap.
Support Weapons: No limit. Must be "real" support weapon.

Any number of magazines may be carried. In addition to any ammo carried in magazines, 1200 rounds per player (3600 for support gunners, not including LSWs) may be carried separately to reload in the field.

If your weapon only has hi- or midcap mags available, let us know before the game starts, preferably by email or at checkin. In some cases, the mag can be blocked to limit the maximum load. In any case, the number of rounds you load must not exceed the limits above.

Then probably RPK-47, not AK47RPK, right?

No it count as a light support weapon .

Why? :

The RPK (Ruchnoi Pulemet Kalashnikova = Kalashnikov light machinegun) was developed as a light support weapon, and had been issued in Soviet Army by one item per each infantry squad (10 men). It had been officially replaced in service by RPK-74 but in fact is still in use with many 2nd line and non-infantry troops, as well as with other Para-military organisations in Russia and other states.

spof, according the quotation it would qualify RPK as a squad automatic weapon ... following the same logic then only M16 mags would be allowed to minimi (m249 saw)

please reconsider

P.S poor star minimi owners :P

There is a huge diference between a light support weapon and a "real" support weapon.

For example: light support weapons like the RPK have a box magazine 40 rounds or drum 75 rounds.

A M249 have a 200 round belt in a box magazine. The barrel is quick-detachable, and has a carrying handle attached to it. You can have belts without boxmag carryig for example 600 rounds.

A support weapon without quick-detachable barrel will get overheted if you dont have a water coolings system or extra heatsinkers added to the barrel.

Try to shoot 1000 rounds with a RPK in 2 minues.... :D

cool spof, i know that. but that is real steel.

then apply the same "reality thinking & simulation" to all rulez - e.g. submachine guns using max M100 spring, because they are only 9mm aand similar. in the end you will have 300 A4 pages about rulez out of which would be 280 pages about exceptions and special rulez covering this and that.

nah, just K.I.S.S it pls. more idiot-proof rulez make it better game for everyone...the more complex rulez the more confusion will arise...

If the AK47RPK count as light support weapon and when only must have 150 bullets in the mag, can we when use the 250 bullets multimag?? if we can use that, should the mag be modified to have a bullets max of 150 bullets or do we trush people and when only load the mag with 150 bullets??

I's an interesting idea ,but I sure to trush people is a kind of fantastic.
Now it comes to be more complex. Make it easily .

Lads, try to restrain yourselves. We don't need lists of retailers, and so on.

The RPK is designated a light support weapon, so it counts as a light support weapon. How difficult is that?

How many owners of M60 , M249 will play as Russian soldiers?
What Russian side can use as support gun? PKM?
One piece is in Denmark one in Russia - thats all.

My drum mag for RPK (yes i know what is RPK :) ) - has plenty of space for 3500 BB. It will be nice and funny sound of rattling with only 150 rounds. :D
